Data Scientist (1yr contract)

This position is one-year contract position (replacement of parental leave)

As a data scientist, you will work closely with a team of software engineers to apply artificial intelligence technologies—such as reinforcement learning and large language models—to real-world projects. Your main mission is to integrate these AI technologies into CATIA solutions and help build features that can be used in real industrial environments. CATIA is a leading CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software used to create complex 3D designs. It already supports automatic design features that take into account things like mechanical performance and manufacturing constraints. By adding AI to CATIA, we aim to make it easier to create even more creative and sophisticated designs that would be difficult to make by hand.

We call this approach "generative experiences"—a new way to design using AI that empowers users to go beyond traditional tools.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (BSc, MSc) in Data Science, with a specialization or strong interest in 3D technologies.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in machine learning and deep learning, with hands-on experience using Python libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. Knowledge of generative models (GAN, VAE, diffusion models) is required.
  • Programming Experience: Prior experience in software programming, especially in AI-related projects (internship, apprenticeship, or professional). Familiarity with object-oriented programming (e.g., C++) is a plus.
  • AI Integration for CAD: Strong interest in applying AI to CAD and generative design, particularly in enhancing user experience and industrial design capabilities.
  • Language & Communication: Proficient in English (spoken and written). Motivated to work in an international environment and engage with industrial customers (e.g., aerospace, automotive, nuclear sectors)
