As a Staff Data Analyst for Rocket Growth, you will be owning and driving critical decision making and modeling across a range of ambiguous problems using data. You will be structuring the data, defining decision variables, running simulations, and modeling large-scale datasets to optimize business outcomes and facilitate business decision making. You have a mindset that constantly challenges the status quo, and you possess a high degree of decision-making acumen. You are not afraid to disagree, love working with data, analyzing the data to come up with insights and possess the panache to work with a diverse set of stakeholders to align them to common goals and decisions. This role will require extensive interaction and collaboration across the organization. (Data Science, Retail, Finance, Product, and Engineering Teams)

What You Will Do

Reporting, Project Support and Metric Management: Develop reporting tools for essential reports such as WBR to drive decision making.
Conduct complex analysis to support various projects and programs.
Deliver a set of KPIs for reporting on product adoption, usage, performance and churn.
Manage KPI’s, including data tables and governance.

Storytelling and Insight Generation: Create compelling, fact-based test recaps to communicate business stories behind data and test outcomes concisely.
Generate analysis to identify category and customer / seller behavior insights.

Forecasting and Prescriptive Analytics:
Assist in analyzing Sales, Ad spend, ROAS, and marketing campaigns for trend identification and financial forecasting.
Conduct cohort studies to uncover insights behind different cohort performance.

Cross-Functional Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with business teams to identify optimal marketing/promotion campaigns using analytics.
Work with operations, business stakeholders, and finance to ensure growth drivers impact effectively.

Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to analysts.
Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Enhance data capabilities across teams through self-service tools and training.

Basic Qualifications

  • Expertise with SQL, SQL tuning, and relational database systems
  • Experience using business intelligence reporting tools (Tableau, Data Cubes, Power BI, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BA/BS/MA/MS, preferable in Finance/Marketing/ Economics/Statistics; MBA is a plus
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience in Analytics, CRM, Marketing, Strategy, or Finance; e-commerce/Consulting/Banking Industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience in doing and presenting analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data analytics such as SQL, Python or R.
  • Experience with Data Analytics tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • General understanding of business operations across key areas such as marketing, Ad performance, and supply chain within ecommerce.
