2. What Dev Korea is, and what it is not
Dev Korea is a self-serve job board and community. Companies publish job postings; developers read them and apply directly. We also publish articles, events, talks and tools, and run a talent pool where developers can choose to make their profile visible to companies.
Dev Korea is not a recruiter, headhunter or job placement service (μ§μ μκ°μ¬μ ). We do not select, recommend or introduce candidates to companies, take part in interviews, or negotiate on anyone's behalf. Companies review applications and run their own hiring process, and every hiring decision is theirs alone. Any employment relationship is between the company and the person hired; Dev Korea is not a party to it.
3. Definitions
- Site: dev-korea.com and its services.
- User: anyone using the Site.
- Talent: a User with a talent account, or who applies to a job.
- Company: a business that publishes a job posting, uses the recruiter dashboard, or buys a service from us.
4. Accounts
You must be at least 18 to create an account. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think your account has been misused. You are responsible for activity under your account. Talent accounts can be deleted at any time from the profile page. Company accounts are closed on request by email.
5. Rules for Talents
- Information in your profile and applications must be accurate and your own.
- Do not upload files containing malware, or anyone else's personal information.
- A "Public" profile is visible to Companies with talent pool access, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can make it private at any time.
- Using Dev Korea is free for Talents.
6. Rules for Companies
- Job postings must describe a real, open position at your company, or at a client you are authorised to represent, and must comply with Korean law, including the Employment Security Act, the Fair Hiring Procedure Act and anti-discrimination rules.
- Postings must not ask applicants for fees, deposits or purchases, and must not contain false, misleading or discriminatory content.
- You may use applicant information received through the Site only to evaluate the person for the role they applied to or, with talent pool access, to contact them about relevant roles. You are responsible for handling it lawfully under the Personal Information Protection Act and for deleting it when it is no longer needed.
- We may edit postings for formatting and clarity, and may refuse, unpublish or remove any posting.
7. Fees
- Job postings are free to publish.
- Platform fee. A Company that hires a Talent who applied to its job through Dev Korea owes a one-time platform fee for use of the job board: 7% of first-year gross salary for full-time roles, or 7% of total contract value for contract roles, whatever the contract length. A hire is completed when a contract is signed and the person starts work. The fee is invoiced 30 days after the start date. The exact terms are set out in a written agreement signed before any hire.
- Declared candidates. No fee applies to a person the Company already had in its hiring pipeline and declared to us before they applied through Dev Korea.
- Re-promotion credit. If the hire leaves within 90 days of the start date for reasons other than company misconduct, restructuring or a change of role, we re-publish and re-promote the role free of charge until it is filled or withdrawn, and no platform fee applies to the next hire for that role. Platform fees are not refunded in cash.
- Sponsorships, partnerships and co-hosted events are priced and invoiced under a separate written agreement.
If a written agreement with a Company conflicts with this section, the agreement prevails.
8. Merch orders
- Merch is paid through Toss Payments, whose own terms apply to the payment.
- Prices include VAT. We ship within the Republic of Korea only.
- Change of mind. You can cancel an order or return an item within 7 days of delivery. Return shipping is on you. We cannot accept items that have been worn, washed or damaged after delivery, or whose tags have been removed, because their value is then lost (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Article 17).
- Defective or wrong items. If an item is defective, damaged in delivery or not as described, you can return it within 3 months of delivery, or within 30 days of when you found or could have found the problem. Return shipping is on us.
- We exchange the item if your size is still in stock, or refund you within 3 business days of receiving the return.
- For any problem with an order, email [email protected] with your order number.
9. Your content
Profiles, applications, job postings and other content you submit remain yours. You give Dev Korea a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, format, translate and distribute it as needed to run the Site, for example publishing a job posting and sharing it on our social channels and newsletter. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies already shared publicly or that we must keep by law.
10. Prohibited use
Do not scrape or bulk-download the Site, including the talent pool; use the Site to send spam or unsolicited advertising; impersonate anyone; try to access accounts or systems that are not yours; interfere with the Site's operation; or use the Site for anything unlawful.
11. Intellectual property
The Site's design, code and logos, and our own articles and reports, belong to Dev Korea or its licensors. You are welcome to share links to them and to quote short extracts with attribution. Republishing whole articles or reports requires our written permission.
12. Third-party links
Some job postings, articles and events link to other sites, including company application pages. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
13. Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is". We review job postings, but we do not guarantee that any posting, Company or Talent is accurate, legitimate or suitable, or that you will get an interview, an offer or a hire. Articles and tools on the Site are general information, not legal, tax or immigration advice.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Dev Korea is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for disputes between Companies and Talents. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for damage caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer under Korean law.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if you break these Terms or the law, with notice where reasonable. You may stop using the Site and delete your account at any time.
16. Changes to these Terms
We post changes here with a new effective date at least 7 days before they apply, or 30 days before for changes that are unfavourable to you. If you keep using the Site after that, the new Terms apply.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Please email us first so we can try to resolve any dispute informally. If that fails, the dispute goes to the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act of Korea. Consumers may also use the Korea Consumer Agency's dispute mediation (1372).
These Terms are published in English and Korean. If the two differ, the Korean version prevails.
