Machine Learning Engineer

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Sendbird, you will be pivotal in innovating and optimizing our communication platforms using advanced machine learning technologies. Your primary focus will be on leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) methodologies to enhance the conversational AI capabilities of our products.

What You Will Do

• Design, implement, and fine-tune in-house machine learning models that improve the performance and scalability of Sendbird’s products.
• Develop models that utilize current state-of-the-art technologies such as LLMs and RAG to improve natural language understanding and generation in our applications.
• Constantly research and stay updated with the latest developments in machine learning, especially in LLMs and RAG spaces.
• Implement these cutting-edge technologies to solve real-world problems faced by our users and enhance the overall user experience.

Who You Are

• You bring a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of machine learning, particularly in large language models (LLMs) and retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
• You are an expert in developing, training, and refining cutting-edge in-house ML models that elevate Sendbird's suite of communication products.
• You are skilled in Python, PyTorch, and modern ML frameworks.
• Your proactive approach to problem-solving, along with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends, makes you a perfect fit for Sendbird's innovative and dynamic environment. Whether it's improving existing features or pioneering new ones, you are ready to contribute to shaping the future of communications with advanced machine learning techniques.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of work experience in machine learning and developing/training NLP models with production-ready performance and accuracy
• Proficiency in Python and common machine learning frameworks like PyTorch.
• Experience with NLP and technologies such as Hugging Face, NLTK, spaCy.
• Strong understanding of model training, validation, scaling, and deployment.
• Familiarity with AWS and machine learning APIs.
• English proficiency for business collaboration
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Bonus Point

• Holding an MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field, demonstrating deep academic grounding in the principles and application of machine learning.
• Specialization in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a strong grasp of linguistic nuances and techniques essential for advancing language-based technologies.
• Authorship of papers published in prominent ML conferences, particularly those focusing on NLP topics, showcasing your contributions to the academic community and your commitment to advancing the field of machine learning.
