Seoul Counseling Center is a psychological counseling center in South Korea that provides high-quality bilingual counseling services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in English and Korean through online and in-person sessions. Our Centers are located in Sinsa and Pyeongtaek.

Job Description

As a Data Specialist at Seoul Counseling Center, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems while also contributing to the development of our internal tools and future web applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient. Additionally, your skills in JavaScript will be essential in creating intuitive and responsive user interfaces using low-code tools like Retool or other frameworks.

Working Location:

  • 35 Gangnam-daero 158-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (Near Sinsa station)

Working Hours:

  • Monday - Friday (10-7pm) / 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work from home once a week after training is completed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop database schemas to support business requirements and data integrity.
  • Optimize and maintain existing database systems to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate to integrate database solutions with application logic.
  • Implement data migration and transformation processes.
  • Develop and maintain basic front-end features using JavaScript, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems.
  • Work closely with project managers and UX designers to create user-friendly interfaces.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database and front-end issues in a timely manner.
  • Document database designs, configurations, and front-end code for future reference and maintenance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our systems.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology or a relevant experience
  • Proven experience in database schema design and development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and normalization.
  • Intermediate front-end development skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity building internal tools to automate or optimize operations.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks/libraries/tools (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular, Retool) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent reading and writing English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Experience in the mental health or healthcare industry is a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of backend development and server-side scripting languages (e.g., Node.js, Python).
  • Experience with data visualization tools and libraries.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
