At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring highly technical cloud appliction architects to help our customers develop technical expertise and capacity, while also collaborating with our customers and partners on key engagements. Our consultants will deliver Pilot projects, topical workshops, and lead implementation projects.

Professional Services engage in a wide variety of projects for customers, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base and are obsessed about strong success for the Customer. Our team collaborates across the entire AWS organization to bring access to product and service teams, to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation based upon customer needs.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for hands on developers who are passionate about:

Helping customers architect scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services
Architecting and developing customer applications to be cloud optimized
Working as a technical leader along side customer business, development and infrastructure teams.
Providing deep software development knowledge with respect cloud architecture, design patterns and programming
Advising and implementing AWS best practices
Working as both an infrastructure and application development specialist
Agile software development and DevOps
Implementing DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration and automated deployment

A day in the life

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services as needed.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of IT implementation experience
Experience with software development life cycle (sdlc) and agile/iterative methodologies
Experience developing software code in one or more programming languages (java, python, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical / architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation
