Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Lead Application Developer, you will be responsible for guiding and overseeing the work of junior application developers, while also participating in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. This role demands strong technical skills, effective leadership, and the ability to foster a collaborative and productive team environment.

This role requires a high level of proficiency and competence in application development and leadership. As a Lead Application Developer, you're expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of your field and consistently deliver high-quality work while effectively leading and developing your team.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Oversee the design, development, and implementation of applications.
Lead a team of application developers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, contributing to planning, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, QA, and IT to define, design, and ship new features.
Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and/or application tools.
Contribute to the improvement of development processes and tools.
Align development plans with organizational goals.
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Ensure high standards of software quality through reviews.
Motivate and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree would be advantageous.
Proven experience as an Application Developer or in a similar leadership role.
Expertise in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, Ruby, etc.
Familiarity with Agile environments, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL), version control systems (Git), and unit testing frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage and motivate a team.
Strategic thinker with experience in aligning development plans with organizational goals.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar would be advantageous.
