Role Overview

As a Backend Developer at NomadHer, you will drive the continuous development of our backend systems. You'll be tasked with maintaining and improving our backend architecture, developing new features, managing databases, and ensuring a seamless user experience for our global network of female travelers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commit to NomadHer's mission of empowering women through travel.
  • Manage a broad range of tasks from feature development to legacy code debugging.
  • Design and implement development best practices to ensure high-quality software, good test coverage, and efficient deployment.

Who You Are:

  • A passionate developer with 3+ years of experience working on released products.
  • Proficient in Javascript and Typescript for backend development.
  • Skilled in NoSQL database architecture and experienced with GCP/Firebase products.
  • Knowledgeable about SOLID principles and CLEAN architecture.
  • Experienced with a JavaScript backend framework (NestJs, Express, etc.).
  • Fluent in English.

Nice-to-Have:

  • An interest in TDD methodologies.
  • A desire to impact users worldwide.
  • Knowledge of CDN or distributed backend/services.
  • Experience in frontend or mobile development.

Technical Stack:

  • Firebase suite for backend services (Firestore, Cloud Functions, Authentication, Remote Config, Analytics, Messaging).
  • Mobile app development with React Native and Redux Toolkit.
  • Backend API with NestJs, running on Cloud Functions V2.
  • Transition from Cloud Functions V1 to V2.
  • ElasticSearch for search engine capabilities.
